Knack Web › Websites for builders
Websites for builders that show the work
People choosing a builder are about to spend more than most of them have spent on anything except the house itself. They want to see your finished jobs, check you're licensed, and know you'll pick up the phone. That's what the site does. Your photos, your words, a fixed price.
What wins a building job online
Projects, not adjectives
A gallery of finished jobs, grouped by type: extensions, renovations, decks, new builds. Each with a line on what was done and where. Before and after if you've got them.
Licensed and covered
Your LBP number with a link to the register, and Master Builders or NZ Certified Builders membership and guarantee if you have one. On big jobs, this is half the decision.
The work you want
If you'd rather do renos than decks, the site says so up front. It's the cheapest way to stop quoting work you don't want.
How a job runs
A short, honest run-through: first visit, quote, consents, timeline, sign-off. Homeowners are nervous about the process more than the price.
Where you build
The areas you work in, named plainly, and whether you'll travel for the right job.
Easy to get hold of
Tap-to-call on mobile, and an enquiry form that can ask the useful questions (type of job, rough budget, timing) so you can sort serious enquiries from the rest.
Free first look: send me your current site and I'll build a concept homepage from your real photos and details, sent as a private link. No cost to have a look.
Who builds it
I'm Joe, a registered electrician in Whenuapai running my own trade business, so your site gets written in tradie language, not agency speak. You spend about fifteen minutes on a call and send your photos. See the sites I've built.
What it costs
Same price for every trade. $1,490 + GST once (half up front, half before it goes live, first 12 months of hosting and care included), or $129/month + GST with nothing up front: 12 payments and it's yours, then $49/month care, month to month. Up to five pages, a quote form to your phone, your Google Business Profile set up free.

Straight answers
How many project photos can I have?
As many as tell the story. Photos are resized automatically so the gallery still loads fast on a phone. Ten to twenty good ones beats a hundred average ones.
Can I add new projects myself?
Most builders would rather send them through. Up to 30 minutes of changes a month is included on hosting and care, which covers adding a project or two. Over that, it's $110 an hour on a plan.
Do you write the content?
Yes, from a fifteen-minute call and your intake form. You read it before anything goes live. Nothing is invented: no made-up years in business, awards or reviews.
Will it help me rank on Google?
The site is built to Google's requirements (fast, mobile-first, structured data, plain-words services and areas), and your Google Business Profile is set up free. Reviews and finished-job photos on that profile are what move you up the map results. No one honest promises a ranking.
Want more calls from your website?
Send through your current site and you'll get a free homepage concept back within a couple of days. I'm on the tools during the day, so replies land in the evening.
